Have you got a room in your house you think is too small to make a bedroom? No matter what the size, by adding some extra storage and making use of every inch with clever furniture pieces, you can create a stunning bedroom on a low budget!
Here are our handy tips on how to maximise space;
When it comes to decorating a smaller bedroom, your greatest weapon is to create as much hidden storage as you possibly can.
A great way to do this is to utilise your under bed storage. By getting the most out of this unused space allows you to keep your possessions hidden away but also easily accessible.
Extra shelving is also a must!
Use Every Corner
When you are working with a smaller space, every inch counts. By tucking your bed into the corner of your room, you are given a lot more floor space to work with.
Instead of having a lamp on the stand next to you, why not fit a wall light over to your bed and make the most of your wall space.
Light It Up
The more natural light you have access to the better. Letting natural light bleed into the room is an easy way or making the room feel bigger.
Try to avoid using thick long curtains, they will take up space and block out the light.
If you are looking at utilising a small attic room, installing skylights are a great way of opening the room up and lighting up the room.
If you are wanting to make a space feel bigger, mirrors are your best friend!
By using a feature mirror, or even mirrored furniture, not only give the illusion of more space but reflect more natural light around the room.
Don't be afraid of using too many, the more you can use... the better!
Minimal Furniture Is A Must
To keep your room feeling light and spacious, choose furniture with lighter tones, such as oak wood or white gloss. By combining this with lighter carpets and walls, your room will appear clean and tidy.
