The winter colour palette is ‘stripped of excess’ offering a ‘less is more’ narrative which seems to be becoming much more important for people who now seem to be prioritising value and functionality in their homes.

Bright Skies

The Dulux Colour of the Year 2022 is ‘Bright Skies’, a stunning hue of uplifting light blue that provides a much-needed revitalising breath of fresh air into our homes.

The soft blue colour is wonderfully reminiscent of a clear sky filled with hope, reminding us to ‘look up’ as we move onto more positive times. Use ‘Bright Skies’ in the areas of your home where you’d like additional natural light or spaces you want to appear and feel more open and airier. Blue also helps with concentration, making it a great choice for a home office.

Restorative Neutrals

More milky and almond toned neutrals, rather than the cooler tones seen on the grey scale, have seen a return in recent years. With the cold weather creeping in, we’re all about warm neutrals, ideal for creating relaxing living areas that provide a sense of home comfort. These neutral tones are perfect for bringing out other colours and work well as a foundation for introducing a colour accent on areas such as the skirting boards or even a door giving them a real sense of warmth.

Brave Ground

Hailed as Dulux’s Colour of the Year 2021, ‘Brave Ground’ was precisely chosen to neutralise our homes in 2021 and beyond. This lovely warm neutral tone has a calming and grounding effect and it’s the modest allure that we’re drawn to.

The simple hue aspires to provide a safe haven where we can retreat from the outside world. It also goes well with a wide range of colour schemes, effortlessly adapting to its environment.
