What is Earth Day?

Earth Day began in the United States and has now spread throughout the world, with communities getting together to take action.

When is Earth Day?

Earth Day is held on the same day every year – 22 April.

In recent years, Earth Day activities have spanned the entire week leading up to April 22nd, and even the full month. EarthDay.org features a range of online and in-person events taking place all over the world throughout the month.

What is this year’s theme?

“Invest in Our Planet” is the theme for Earth Day 2022.

“This is the moment to change it all – the business climate, the political climate, and how we take action on climate,”
“Now is the time for the unstoppable courage to preserve and protect our health, our families, our livelihoods.”

How can I get involved?

Every year, hundreds of Earth Day events take place all across the world. One of the main ways to help is by donating to help plant trees through The Canopy Project. Since 2010, EARTHDAY.ORG™ has planted tens of millions of trees with The Canopy Project, working worldwide to strengthen communities.
