Here are just a few local charities working towards sustaining the planet.

Homeless Aid UK

Homeless Aid UK is an organisation established and organised by a group of friends from across the UK. All with the same aim and dedication to ending homelessness by providing life-changing services and campaigning for change. The organisation works at grass root levels with the homeless in Bolton, Manchester, Liverpool, Wigan and all across the UK. As well as campaigning for change they also supply food hampers and clothing to those in the local community that are living in poverty. The charity relies solely on donations and local support.

Wipe your tears children’s charity

Established in 2004 in the North West of England, Wipe Your Tears children’s charity’s main aim is to commit their lives to assisting in the care and financial support of seriously and terminally ill children and their most dearest. They also offer support to children who are victims of domestic violence situations. Through fundraising and events they offer support to their families whether it be on a normal day or festive events which tend to be the hardest for vulnerable children and their families.

Animals in distress

Founded in 1967 Animals in Distress’ main aim is to alleviate the suffering of sick and injured animals through a number of different methods, from veterinary treatment, neutering, and a micro-chipping scheme. Their charity work also involves strays, abandoned animals, cruelty cases, road traffic accidents and with their new retirement home they are now able to offer long term care to older animals.

Age UK

Age UK is a local independent charity working with and for older people across the UK. The dedicated staff and volunteers work around the clock to make sure the services to older people are looked out for throughout difficult times. Through the support of the local community and donations, income from charity shops and charitable grants they are able to provide services and support to older people who have reached later life by offering life-enhancing services and vital support.
