Miller Metcalfe is aware of the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Our approach to COVID-19 is to focus on ways to minimise risk to colleagues and clients, and to safeguard business operations so that we can continue to provide the best possible service to customers and clients.
We are carefully monitoring the situation continually and are following advice from government and medical organisations such as the NHS and Public Health England about what our response should be.
We are committed to taking whatever appropriate action is advised and we will regularly update our approach as the situation develops further.
Due to the announcement on Wednesday 13th May in regards to the restart of the property market, we have taken the decision to reopen our offices. From Monday 15th June 2020, our branches will reopen to the general public.
If you wish to speak with a member of our team, we kindly ask that you keep a 2 metre distance at all times and wait in the waiting area until someone is available. Please use the hand gel provided upon entering and exiting the branch. Our desks have been fitted with protective screens which you are required to stay behind to protect yourselves and our teams.
Our opening hours remain the same and we are contactable via telephone, email, live chat and social media, between the hours of 9am-5:30pm Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm Fridays, and 9am–3pm Saturdays. We are still offering Virtual Valuations which can be booked over the phone, and all of our properties can be viewed on our site www.millermetcalfe.co.uk.
To keep our staff and clients safe with have introduced a new way of valuing. We can conduct a full valuation of your home via Skype, FaceTime, Zoom and more.
How does it work? To book a Virtual Valuation, simply book an online valuation via our website. Our team will then contact you to confirm your appointment and give you instructions on how to join the virtual meeting. https://millermetcalfe.co.uk/book-a-valuation/
If you do require a face to face valuation, this can now be arranged. However, you MUST comply with the safety measures we have put in place and our appointments will only be carried out if our valuer, clients and anyone in your household has not had symptoms or been in contact with anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
For the valuation to be carried out safely, you must;
- Ensure all doors are open and lights are all turned on to avoid our valuer needing to touch any door handles or light switches.
- While the appointment is taking place, all members of your household must be stood outside of the house at a 2m distance.
- Our valuer will discuss your valuation with you outside of your property at a safe distance.
- There must be no more than 2 people at the appointment, plus the valuer.
Our valuer will be following government guidelines at all times and will come to the appointment in a mask (required) and gloves (optional).
Ongoing Sales & Viewings
We are making every effort to support current transactions to see them through to completion, working closely with all third parties involved. Marketing activity is ongoing for properties that are still for sale.
Viewings can now be arranged but the government guidelines put in place must always be adhered to. If you were added to our list to view properties during lockdown, our teams will now start the process of contacting all previous enquires to arrange a viewing if possible. Viewings will only be booked if those viewing, our viewer and those currently living at the property do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 nor been in contact with anyone with symptoms.
Currently, we will ONLY be accompanying viewings on empty properties for the foreseeable future.
Again, for the appointment to be carried out safely, you must;
- Our viewing representative will ensure all doors are open and lights are switched on. Do not, unless absolutely necessary, touch any handles or switches in the house.
- While the appointment is taking place, a 2m distance must be applied at all times.
- Our viewer will discuss your views on the property with you outside of the property at a safe distance.
- There must be no more than 2 people at the appointment, plus the viewer. All those viewing must come from the same household and children must not be in attendance.
Our viewer will be following government guidelines at all times and will come to the appointment in a mask (required) and gloves (optional). They will also arrive at the appointment early to ensure all handles, worktops and switches are wiped down before the appointment, as well as after.
Most of our staff have now resumed working out of the offices. Those more vulnerable or living with a vulnerable person are still working from home until it is safe for them to return to work.
