As our families grow, so do our housing needs. A larger home allows for a much more comfortable lifestyle compared to a smaller ‘starter’ property, which can quickly become too cluttered as families grow.

You need some private space

If you find yourself yearning for some private space and are constantly surrounded by clutter or people then it’s definitely time to upsize. Everyone needs a space that they can call their own, whether it’s a home office, a well-kept garden, or a separate living area to help you unwind and get away from the stresses of daily life.

You’re working from home more often

It’s so important to have a place where you can close the door and concentrate on your work without interruptions especially if you work from home. If you don’t already, you may require a dedicated home office. This is especially true if clients or customers are visiting your home.

Your home is cluttered

It may be time to relocate to a larger space if you can’t keep your current space organised. It’s difficult to find things and maintain the space tidy if your home is cluttered, especially if you have young children.

You host family & friends often

You may want to host dinner parties, game evenings, or other gatherings but simply don’t have the space for it, if so, you may need a bigger house. To prepare meals for large crowds, you’ll need a larger kitchen or a formal dining area with enough chairs for everyone. If your home is too small for entertaining, you must always go out, which is costly.

A bigger house also opens up new possibilities so, if the signs are there and you’re feeling ready to move on, upsizing is a decision you won’t likely come to regret!
